How do these look? OEM BBS wheels off the E9x M3. Gonna throw them on my 335i or 328i because they are strong, light, and the gunmetal color will allow me to be lazy with wheel dust. The real question, squared or staggered?

Kinja'd!!!

I know a squared set will reduce under-steer and I’ll be able to rotate tires, but for some weird reason BMW doesn’t recommend rotating tires (BS..). Running a squared set would mean an 18x8.5 et29 in front on a 245-265 tire.. Still trying to figure out what I can fit. I have 255's on the back of the 335 now and if it’s slightly wet outside I can easily get the wheels to spin accelerating in second, so I don’t really wanna go down from a 255. The problem with running anything above a 245 in the front is people reporting that it’ll result in a loss in steering feel and the additional rubber up front will increase tracking on the highway. I could go 245 all around buuuuuuut then I’m decreasing the amount of rubber in the rear, not ideal.

I could go staggered and run 18x8.5 et29 fronts on a 245/40 tire with 18x9.5 et22 rears on 265/35 tires. This will look better (dat concave rear) but I won’t be able to rotate and save $$. This also may not directly fit and I may rub a little, which will end up with me having to roll my rear fenders which is something I reeaaaally don’t want to do.

Looks good, I’d run them squared.

I personally prefer square to staggered, do yourself a favor and check out http://www.turnermotorsport.com

They pretty much have all the info you need and it will tell you if certain OEM wheels will fit. I would also check with a dealership near you as they too can help with sizing. I like those wheels but I am a fan of the 359m style myself.

Squared. Staggered will just mean the car won’t rotate as easily. If you had 600hp then I would vote for staggered since you could rotate with the throttle.

If you need to buy two sets to run the fronts I'll split the cost 60/40 to get the rears.

Staggered because I don’t like wheel spin and my car has the torque to rotate with throttle if I want it to. Aaaaaaand staggered just to be different from everyone else here.

Where are you located?

I have a local shop offering me a mint set with tires (about 75% tread left) for $1200, and a guy about 2 hours from me offering a set for $750 with half worn tires.

CT. I’ll cover shipping costs to me. Literally been dying to get a set of rear 219m’s so I can run the M with a squared setup. Not really interested in getting used tires but if they are Michelin PSS I'll make an exception.

Goal:

I’ll get in touch with them. This would work out great for both of us. They look great on the E46. Both sets of PSS on them iirc. Also, the shop was telling me that if I found a buyer for the rears they could split the set, to make it even easier. I'm in VA right outside DC.

I’d be willing to drive to pick up, I was thinking you were in CA or TX. A place too far to drive.

I might be heading up north to NYC sometime soon, could possibly meet halfway. I'm waiting on a response from both sellers.

Let me know. NYC is about two hours from me so I can meet with you there. I have paypal if that makes transferring funds easier.

Only heard back from the shop, sorry I thought I replied back to you. They haven’t gotten much interest so I might be able to get them for cheaper. I’m gonna test fit the staggered set they have next weekend, if the rear tires fit on my E92 I’m just gonna run the staggered set until I can find another set to buy so I can go squared. All the M3 guys around me are running 219m’s as winter wheels so I keep getting emails from people saying they’ll sell me a set in 1-2 months, which doesn’t really help.

Also, do you have any interest in BBS LM-R’s? There's a guy near me selling a set with 19x11 rears which are just way to big for my car, but his 19x9.5 fronts would fit nicely as rears for me.

Primarily interested in 219m’s but I’m open to a few other wheels. I’m trying to stay with 18's because I intend to keep my 19's. Ideally I would buy some BBS LM’s in 18x9 for the front and 18x10 for the rear. I hear squared setups can feel twitchy at highway speeds and they also tram line badly, but I still want to drive it for myself.

219m’s are an awesome wheel, I really don’t understand why it’s so hard for me to find another set. I’ve heard the same about squared sets, but apparently it isn’t TOO much of a concern unless you’re running serious tire (like 275+) up front. The suspension on an M should be able to handle it though, it’s the non M that I’m worried about with tires. Just switching from runflats to non runflats makes a big difference.

Anyways, I really hope we can make this work out. It’ll save both of us some money getting a set of squared 219m’s.

I hope this all works out...most promising lead I’ve had for 219's since I started looking.
